Kooperativ Ternitz is developing innovative cooperation models for settlement development as a contribution to a climate-neutral city. These models are being implemented in the Dreiersiedlung with a focus on sustainable mobility, green and blue infrastructure, and the revitalization of the settlement center, the results are being made available to stakeholders.
Krems 2030 - Climate-neutral city
The city of Krems has been motivated in climate protection for several years. Krems has been a „Climate and Energy Model Region" (KEM) since 2011 and is aiming for energy self-sufficiency in its municipal facilities and infrastructure by 2030.
LEIWAND - Local decisions for socio-ecological infrastructure change
Political-economic analysis of decision-making processes in mobility and land use. The interests of various stakeholders are identified, and proposals for improved decision-making in the context of a socio-ecological transformation are developed.
LINE-FEED - Plug-in Photovoltaic Storage for the Wall Socket
The project LINE-FEED develops technologies that are required for a photovoltaic storage system which can be installed by anybody by simply plugging it into a wall socket. The aim is to create a storage system for households in urban areas that do not have the possibility to install a photovoltaic system themselves.
LOW TECH innovation-lab - real laboratory for the transformation to climate and resource-saving energy regions with innovative LOW TECH solutions
LOW TECH innovation-lab aims to set up an innovation laboratory in which innovative model solutions are developed, tested and widely rolled out in cooperation with suitable pilot regions on the basis of an optimized approach with regard to the use of technology on the one hand and the potential of the circular economy, local environmental resources and social innovations on the other.
LZE 100 Lighthouse Objects - Long-term evaluation of the energy consumption of 100 energy-efficient buildings in Austria as a representative cross-section of Austrian lighthouse objects
Collection, evaluation and analysis of energy consumption data from 100 energy-efficient buildings in Austria over an operating time of 3 to 25 years as a representative cross-section of Austrian lighthouse objects. Differentiation according to building types, energy sources and determination of real greenhouse gas emissions. Comparison of the measured consumption to benchmark values.
Lahof/Lanserhofsiedlung - Path to Zero CO2 - climate-neutral demonstration building in relation to the neighbourhood
The aim is to develop and implement an innovative, climate-neutral neighbourhood concept with various sustainable energy and building technology components. A central element here is the climate-neutral demonstration building in timber construction. This building is equipped with thermal component activation in solid wood and combines innovative energy concepts such as wastewater heat recovery, large photovoltaic systems and a hydrogen system for seasonal energy storage.
LehB:KlimafitDemo2+1 - Living in existing buildings today: climate-friendly renovations in existing buildings within the framework of the common good housing law
The LehB:KlimafitDemo2+1 project examines innovative renovation solutions for the climate-fit modernization of non-profit residential buildings without placing a financial burden on tenants. By implementing a flexible modular system and involving the residents, economic, technical and social aspects of the renovation are optimized. The aim is to make an important contribution to achieving climate neutrality by 2040 through adapted measures and comprehensive monitoring.
LehB:klimafit! Live in existing buildings today: climate fit together
The aim of the project is to explore transferable renovation concepts for the implementation of climate-fit renovations in Vienna. Integrally optimized renovation packages will be developed, which will be optimized in the building ensembles for implementation-probable, climate-friendly overall solutions with the relevant stakeholders.
LehmKur - Rammed earth walls for multi-storey residential buildings
Research of a lighthouse project consisting of rammed earth-timber exterior wall components with accompanying ecological life cycle analysis, building physics simulations and documentation of the necessary logistical, building law, fire and soundproofing measures.
LeiSan - Flagship Project: Renovation of the Komposch-Ebene Residential Quarter in Bad Eisenkappel, Carinthia
Exploration for an existing quarter in Bad Eisenkappel with the goal of renovating the building stock, involving the residents, the open space, mobility, and local generation of renewable energy. The result should demonstrate the economic feasibility of a holistic concept for the quarter and serve as a basis for a demonstration project.
LenA circular houses - Demonstration of the circular architecture design process for circular andreuse building based on the lighthouse project LenA
The main objective is to research and demonstrate the positive climate impact of reuse in the construction industry. Through this (re)use of components, products and material groups, large shares of the emissions generated by the construction industry can be avoided and contribute to the targeted climate neutrality. Another aspect is to design the connections of the components in such a way that they can be deconstructed and reused.
Leonding on the Path to Climate Neutrality - Climate Neutrality Roadmap Leonding
Building on existing concepts and strategies such as the Leonding Climate Strategy, the Climate Balance, the Mobility Concept, and the KEM Implementation Strategy, a comprehensive climate neutrality roadmap or vision for a climate-neutral Leonding by 2040 will be developed with the involvement of various stakeholders from politics, administration, business, and civil society.
LessIsMore - Energy efficient human centric lighting by innovative components and daylight integration
Human Centric Lighting (HCL) is focused on the positive visual and non-visual (biological) effects of light on humans, but is wasting energy by the inefficient use of components and daylight. In LessIsMore an exemplary pilot installation will be developed and evaluated.
Linz with Ambitio3xn - Linz with ambition for climate neutrality: governance, infrastructure and climate-social neighborhood Franckviertel
The project "Linz with Ambitio3xn" supports the city of Linz in becoming climate neutral by 2040. Contributing to this ambitious goal requires aligning urban planning instruments with urban climate mitigation and decarbonizing existing gas infrastructure in the Franckviertel neighborhood. In the project, standards for net zero non-profit housing will be tested in practice and shared learning are promoted.
LooPi - the autonomous unisex plant-based urinal for public spaces
Application of the prototype in the operational environment for a period of 20 months. Technical monitoring thoughout the cycle of seasons, user interviews concerning satisfaction, evaluation of the potential use of LooPi material streams as soil conditioner for organic farming. Results serve the development towards market maturity.
M-DAB - Digitise, analyse and sustainably manage the city's material resources
The research project investigates how digital technologies can support us in determining the existing and future material resources in construction qualitatively (building materials and their recycling) and quantitatively (quantities of building materials).
M-DAB2: Material intensity of inner development - resource assessment and localization of urban development potentials
