MEIDLINGER L Demo

The MEIDLINGER L modular rank shelf system is intended to enable the widespread use of façade greening in existing urban areas. In combination with thermal refurbishment of existing buildings as well as greening, PV, water management, conversion of street space and mobility with the integration of resilient energy infrastructure as well as the application of a customized financing model and a service offer for multiplicability.

Path to the future DEMO: Climate-Ready Future in Condominium Ownership - The path to Socio-Ecological Transformation

The project integrates technical, legal, economic, and social science approaches to develop and pilot practical, transferable tools that support and qualify key stakeholders involved in renovation and decarbonization projects within condominium owners’ associations (COAs, in German: Wohnungs­eigentümer­gemeinschaften, or short WEGs). Conduct a large-scale, long-term study with 40-50 people to create personal comfort profiles to increase comfort in buildings. The personal comfort profiles will then be fed back into the building control system as input variables in a proof-of-concept.

PhaseOut – Heat pump technologies in the renovation of existing buildings

The aim is the conception, optimization, implementation, demonstration and evaluation of innovative, minimally invasive renovation solutions (thermal renovation and heating system replacement) with heat pumps and PV in multi-storey buildings on seven identical buildings. The comprehensive comparison includes various technical solution variants based on modular and scalable building technology systems as well as multifunctional building components for the exchange of decentralized gas heating by central, semi-central and decentralized heat pump solutions.

Plus Energy Melk - Path for the realization of Plus-Energy-Districs in Melk

The city of Melk has set itself the goal of playing a pioneering role in renewable energy supply and climate protection. Plus-Energy-Campus - Energy-flexible Positive Energy District with "Living Lab"

The project explored paths to a sustainable, future-proof Positive Energy-District (PED) in the area surrounding the location of the University of Applied Sciences Vienna (FH-Technikum Wien). The feasibility of a new university building as a Plus-Energy teaching building had been examined in detail to prepare its implementation. Central innovation contents are the energetic flexibilization of the new building and the quarter as well as the conception of the Plus-Energy building as a "Living Lab".

RST Reloaded - Flexibilisation of the urban power supply system by adapting the existing ripple control system

"RST reloaded" utilises existing ripple control technology (RST) to activate flexible loads in a targeted manner to benefit the grid and thus create capacities for more renewable energy in urban electricity grids. The aim is to analyse technical potential and user acceptance in equal measure and validate them in an implementation. The approach is scalable, legally compliant and transferable to other municipal utilities.

RaumCoop 2.0 - Space Cooperative, a systematic operational model for activating unused or underutilized spaces.

The RaumCoop organizes the sharing of spaces, mobilizes underutilized spaces for non-residential purposes in the ground floor area, and makes them available for temporary use at affordable conditions. The goal of the project is to establish this non-profit organization.
