IMPACT – Hybrid hydraulic and electric charging of stratified compact hot water

The IMPACT project is developing an innovative decentralised hot water storage tech­nology for large-volume urban housing. Thanks to a novel, flat design, the sys­tem enables highly efficient utilisation of renewable energy sources such as heat pumps and photovoltaics. The aim is to create a cost-efficient, sustainable solution for decarbonising water heating that is optimised using intelligent energy manage­ment and machine learning methods.

An innovative energy concept, which also includes the regional hospital, is being developed. The aim is to develop and implement an innovative, climate-neutral neighbourhood concept with various sustainable energy and building technology components. A central element here is the climate-neutral demonstration building in timber con­struc­tion. This building is equipped with thermal component activation in solid wood and combines innovative energy concepts such as wastewater heat recovery, large photovoltaic systems and a hydrogen system for seasonal energy storage.

The LehB:KlimafitDemo2+1 project examines innovative renovation solutions for the climate-fit modernization of non-profit residential buildings without placing a financial burden on tenants. LenA circular houses - Demonstration of the circular architecture design process for circular andreuse building based on the lighthouse project LenA

The main objective is to research and demonstrate the positive climate impact of reuse in the construction industry. Through this (re)use of components, products and material groups, large shares of the emissions generated by the construction industry can be avoided and contribute to the targeted climate neutrality. Another aspect is to design the connections of the components in such a way that they can be deconstructed and reused.

Linz with Ambitio3xn - Linz with ambition for climate neutrality: governance, infrastructure and climate-social neighborhood Franckviertel

The project "Linz with Ambitio3xn" supports the city of Linz in becoming climate neutral by 2040. Contributing to this ambitious goal requires aligning urban planning instruments with urban climate mitigation and decarbonizing existing gas infrastructure in the Franckviertel neighborhood. In the project, standards for net zero non-profit housing will be tested in practice and shared learning are promoted.
