Climate neutrality roadmap Feldkirch
Short Description
Feldkirch enacted an Energy Master Plan (EMP) in 2015, with a comprehensive collection of energy-relevant data and an underlying pool of measures. In 2021, the city council decided to achieve the Paris climate goals and the associated climate neutrality by 2040. As part of the current project "Climate Roadmap FK," a climate neutrality roadmap until 2040 is being developed in collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). To this end, an integrated sectoral approach is used, supported by a participatory process with local stakeholders to create consistent, future development scenarios. The goal of the climate neutrality pathway Feldkirch (KNF) is pursued through a series of decarbonization measures, such as improving energy efficiency, increasing the share of local renewable energies and electrifying the end consumption.
The path to becoming the most popular and liveable city in Vorarlberg also involves climate protection. That is why climate protection and climate change adaptation measures are a top priority for us. The City of Feldkirch's climate neutrality roadmap forms a crucial basis for fulfilling our responsibility to future generations.
