Full-scale planning concepts for positive energy districts (PEDs) and their operation as energy communities (ECs). The focus is on the implementation in the existing building stock, especially in the area of social/non-profit housing. Financing options for renewable generation units, planning and operation of a PED (especially as an EC), marketing opportunities for surplus electricity and the development of an information and networking platform are part of this project. A special highlight is the practical proof-of-concept in Fuchsenloch, which is a social housing quarter of Sozialbau.

SuperQ3 – Neighborhood demonstration of a super­block in the Dreiheiligen district, Innsbruck

SuperQ3 is the first scientifically supported demonstration of the superblock concept in Innsbruck as a model for climate-neutral neighborhood development. The project com­bines traffic calming, improved environmental and residential quality, and participatory transformation in the district of Dreiheiligen. It will deliver transfer­able urban modules, practical guidelines, and evidence-based findings for further neighborhoods.

The project aims to establish the foundation for a climate-neutral, socially inclusive, and economically viable heating and cooling system in a pioneer city. A special focus is placed on anergy networks, which - despite high upfront investments - offer strong potential for low-temperature, dual-purpose heating and cooling supply.
