Climate Quarter Melk
Radical and comprehensive transformation of a city quarter in the small town of Melk, Lower Austria, involving the areas of urban planning, landscape architecture, traffic planning and co-creation - demonstrated by the implementation and rededication of a parking lot to an urban, inner-city climate forest within project life-time.
Kolpingquarter Salzburg - on site quarter energy supply with an optimized warmwater solution and grid serviceability
In a quarter on the site of the Kolpinghaus Salzburg, consisting of a youth residence and a hotel, energy optimizations and extensions are being carried out. This includes the construction of an affordable residential building for young people and families as well as the redesign of the overall energy supply of the neighborhood. The goals are to maximize the use of on-site renewable energy, phase out fossil fuel heat supply, interconnect the buildings, and optimize energy efficiency.
ModularHeatNet
The aim of the project is to support Ottensheim in phasing out fossil fuels and developing a "climate-neutral" heat supply. As a result, the community will receive a solid decision-making basis based on the technical, economic, organizational, and environmental comparison of the examined heat supply approaches.
ECEE Climate Positivity
The ECEE Climate Positivity project aims to develop a climate-positive, scalable energy concept for commercial buildings. Through the innovative combination of building-integrated photovoltaics, component activation, and intelligent energy management, the project seeks to reduce CO₂ emissions, lower operating costs, and establish new business models for sustainable construction.
FavoriteFlows – Innovative solutions for water and energy cycles in buildings for a climate fit city
Demonstration of detailed planning work and implementation of water cycles (building-integrated constructed wetland wastewater treatment) and energy cycles (wastewater heat exchanger) on a large residential apartment development for climate resilience, resource efficiency and high living standard.
Co-Housing Gutenberg: Integrated Sector Coupling for Shared Living, Energy, and Mobility
The "CoHoGutenberg" project aims to establish a sustainable co-housing model in the rural community of Gutenberg, Styria, by combining sufficiency principles with state-of-the-art energy technologies.
IK-EnErGie-Knoten - Intermunicipal Electricity and District Heating Network St. Ruprecht–Weiz–Gleisdorf
The IK-EnErGie-Knoten project is developing a sector-coupled, bidirectional energy system for the climate-neutral city of the future. The intelligent networking of existing electricity and heating infrastructures and new cooperation models that transcend property boundaries are creating a scalable energy hub that serves as a model for Austria.
Drain2Energy - Demonstration of a wastewater heat exchanger suitable for renovation in two existing buildings
Drain2Energy demonstrates an innovative in-house wastewater heat exchanger that can also utilize black water from toilets and is particularly suitable for retrofitting existing buildings. The technology is being tested in two demonstration buildings and monitored in real operation. The results provide key insights into the potential of wastewater heat as a renewable heat source and promote the use of this technology in existing and new buildings.
