Short Description
In addition to measures that the city can directly implement, the plan will also consider initiatives outside the municipality's direct sphere of influence. To this end, Voitsberg will engage with local businesses to incorporate their planned actions and efforts into the long-term goals of the roadmap, ensuring that all relevant contributions are included in the city's path to climate neutrality.
As mayor of Voitsberg, it is a matter close to my heart to make our town sustainable and future-oriented. With the Climate Neutrality Plan 2040, we are taking an important step towards securing the high quality of life in our town and beyond in the long term, while at the same time taking responsibility for future generations.
The focus lies on utilizing renewable energy for municipal buildings, ensuring self-sufficient power supply for public facilities, promoting sustainable resource management, and expanding eco-friendly mobility. The city centre will be enhanced with more green spaces, climate adaptation measures, and soil protection. Urban development will prioritize the renovation of existing buildings to minimize land consumption.
The result will be a comprehensive action plan with innovative financing models designed to unlock untapped potential in energy efficiency, building renovation, and mobility. Simultaneously, measures will be implemented to reduce climate-related damage and sustainably improve the quality of life for Voitsberg's residents.
