Mistelbach climate neutrality roadmap

In January 2024, the municipality of Mistelbach in Lower Austria unanimously decided to draw up a climate neutrality roadmap for 2040. The municipality is thus continuing on its path towards climate neutrality and can build on numerous completed activities.

So far, a concrete vision, a consistent, cross-sector strategy and an action plan to achieve this goal have been lacking. A broadly supported vision for climate neutrality in 2040 for the municipality of Mistelbach and an approach that involves political decision-makers and relevant stakeholders from administration, business and civil society at an early stage and thus supports the necessary competence and capacity building for the implementation of the climate neutrality roadmap are therefore a matter of urgency. The project uses an energy and climate balance to identify the key challenges and define priority fields of action.

Networking and exchange with other climate neutrality pioneer cities in Austria intended by the project will ensure an intensive transfer of knowledge and the necessary development of know-how for the municipality of Mistelbach.
