Against the backdrop of global environmental crises and national efforts to make cities more climate-friendly, this project aims to develop a comprehensive roadmap that considers all relevant sectors.

The project begins with an in-depth analysis of existing strategies and measures in key sectors such as energy, mobility, buildings, and waste management. This analysis forms the basis for participatory processes in which local stakeholders and existing initiatives are actively involved in shaping the climate neutrality roadmap. The insights gained will inform the development of tailored solutions for each sector to ensure broad acceptance and sustainable implementation.

The climate neutrality roadmap will include concrete goals and strategies for each sector, along with a clear implementation plan that includes national and municipal financing options for the first two years. Capacity and structural plans will describe administrative processes and structures for a climate-neutral alignment. A monitoring and evaluation process ensures that the goals are regularly reviewed and adjusted if necessary. Participation in the mission "Climate-Neutral City" supports the exchange of experiences and knowledge with other cities.

As a pioneering small town, Eisenstadt has the opportunity to develop innovative approaches and solutions that can contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and promoting sustainable lifestyles in the long term. Our commitment shows that even smaller towns can and want to make a significant contribution to climate protection. We can thus provide impetus and contribute ideas not only in Burgenland, but also at a national level.
